During storytime we will be singing duck and pond themed songs and making a duck puppet for the craft.
The book to be read during this session is:
Little Twitching by Phil Cummings.
The theme for BIBS at Camden this month is Tactile Baby.
During the BIBS sessions this month we will be singing songs and reading books related to touch and sensory play.
Sensory play is currently seen as one of the key areas of play for babies and young children and a crucial part of development.
Sensory play is play that involves the use of one or more of the five senses - touch, sight, smell, taste and hearing.
Objects that offer different tactile and texture experiences are also beneficial in helping children to develop a sensory 'feeling' vocabulary, i.e. words to describe how things:
-Feel: soft, hard, cold, smooth, rough, squishy...
-Smell and taste: sweet and sour....
-Look: Big, little...
-Sound: Loud, quite....
